An intro to Astrebla

astrebla

Astrebla Ecological Services is named for the renowned Australian grass genus Astrebla -the famous Mitchell grasses.

Astrebla species underpin the grazing industry in north Queensland – they are resilient, reliable grasses capable of tolerating the extremes of the Australian environment, and their presence in a pasture is a sign of good management.

Astrebla is operated by Principal Botanist/Ecologist Simon Danielsen.  Simon has over 18 years experience in natural area management, ecological and botanical field surveys, and the provision of high quality reports and mapping products to both government and private clients.

After 10 years as a consulting botanist/ecologist with one of the world’s top 50 engineering companies, Simon established Astrebla Ecological Services to provide a reliable, friendly and high quality ecological consulting service  at a realistic price.

Whether it be surveys for protected plants (flora trigger map surveys), BioCondition assessments, PMAVs, regional ecosystem ground truthing, weed mapping or a full blown impact assessment, Astrebla provides a ‘brand-name’ professional standard at a sole-trader price.

Astrebla also specialises in providing high quality, seamless, ‘hit the ground running’ botanical services to other ecological consulting companies.
